While Bridgewater only has one bingo hall, it's located very well, and attracts a very good crowd, to the point that its bingo hall, Holy Trinity RC Church, has two available nights for bingo games, Monday and Friday, a perfect way to book-end the week! It's located near the Raritan River, east of the township, as well as local parks, so if you're ever stuck to locate this bingo hall, it'll be easy to ask anyone and find directions!
With some bingo halls with admission fees, players can pay on the door for a little extra, or not further charge, or book tickets online if there's due to be a high attendance. Depending on the location, doors can open up to 2-3 hours before the first game starts which gives players a great chance to settle in and get to know--or catch up--with the crowd. Like with Holy Trinity Church, bingo events that have a kitchen open for the event, this means they will be open for longer pre-game. Players will buy their bingo sheets--with this local bingo hall, they have different tiers of prices for extra bingo grids--and take a seat, have a chat, and get their ink daubers at the ready. Of course, ink daubers aren't required but some more into their regular bingo games will have one purely for the ease of marking off called numbers. The host will call for everyone to start, and will begin calling numbers. The numbers are drawn randomly and players will wait eagerly to see if their grid contains the numbers called. In a game of bingo, there can be several ways to win. One of the most common is a line--players will have either a vertical or horizontal line of numbers crossed off--and sometimes this comes with some sort of smaller win. Not all bingo games offer that first win, though. Then usually all players wait to get a full house, where all the numbers in the grid are crossed off, thus making one person, or one team, the winner of the game. In Holy Trinity, after 5 games, this means someone will have the chance to win a jackpot of $150-$200!
Unfortunately, Bridgewater only has one available local bingo hall, but it's a great location. There are no shortage of reasons why you should check out Holy Trinity Church as your preferred bingo location over, say, any larger city bingo halls. With jackpot wins of up to $300 in one night, with all bingo games combined, and with an open kitchen that's volunteer-run for the duration of the night, what's not to choose? Additionally, it's in a great location bordered by nearby parks which makes it perfect for an afternoon out beforehand. It's in a picturesque area, with plenty of local, public parking spots. Furthermore, not only does this bingo hall offer only one night a week for games but two! Monday and Friday are this hall's hotspot days for Bridgewater bingo so if you miss a night or can't make it for any reason, there's another chance right at the other end of the week. And with two nights a week, this enhances the social aspect of what bingo halls can represent.
When it comes to a great bingo hall, a lot needs to be considered. To host a bingo night that can last 2-3 hours, there needs to be some sort of refreshment availability, either an on-site kitchen or allowance for players to bring their own food. To discuss and deliberate with other guests over what to bring--to get a community involved with helping each other create a great bingo hall in Bridgewater. Parking is a must to consider. Over 7 out of 10 people employed in New Jersey drive. This means that having easy access parking is a must, especially for the amount of time of an average bingo night. Furthermore, the hall size needs to be considered. There's nothing more awkward than a massive room with only a couple of people, but the hall must be big enough to accommodate a larger group. So it would be great to create buzz online through forums and Facebook pages to gauge how many people would be interested in turning up to the scheduled bingo night!
Since 2011, New Jersey has employed over 3,000 employees within the casino sector and had over 28.5 million visitors. With Atlantic City being a large source of income for the state, casinos and gambling has since thrived. The most popular age groups for gambling in New Jersey is 45-60's, drawing a lot of older audience to Atlantic City casinos. Bingo halls are popular in New Jersey, as bingo can be played for charity.
