St Dominics RC Church, Brick | New Jersey, New Jersey
While the large-scale size of bigger bingo halls attracting a wider community can be very appealing to some, others find themselves more comfortable in the quieter, low-key bingo halls with a considerable attendance and refreshments. The smaller size element can be appealing to make the event more cosy--and St Dominics Church can offer just that every Tuesday from 11am-1pm.
What is the Local Area Like?
Nestled amongst local supermarkets like Walmart, ALDI, Home Depot, and the Dollar Tree, players will find themselves in an area of well-known names, which can be somewhat comforting if the area is new to them. With known names comes familiarity when asking locals for any directions. This could also be appealing for midday shoppers, who either want to tackle their grocery lists before their bingo game or early afternoon shoppers, who want to take a lunchtime stroll through the local amenities. Not only that but St Dominics Church is within walking distance of several diners, plus an IHOP, so when bingo ends at peak lunchtime, anyone who fancies spending a little extra for some longer time out of the house, there's plenty of places to choose from! As well as the nearby Beth OR Temple, St Dominics Church is also situated near Garden State Parkway highway, giving easy access to all manner of attendees coming from any and all directions!
Food and Bingo!
A wonderful thing about St. Dominic's Church as a bingo hall location is the fact that its community is its host, in terms of it's all volunteer-run, so there are friendly faces abound! Members of the church operate the church's kitchen for bingo nights, and furthermore, the Rosary Makers are an all-female group who help run church events. This group is integral to the church; they make rosary beads and hand them out in the local community and the congregation. Furthermore, they bring a warm welcome to any newcomers and familiar faces to the bingo hall's game time.
Volunteers usually put in about 3 hours of volunteering for bingo events. As part of the church and part of the Rosary Makers, each person must have a hand in volunteering, and running the kitchen during bingo is one of the options. However, it becomes less a hardship and more a fun thing to do when making friends with the people to work alongside, as well as get chatting to frequent players that come weekly--or even a little less but still enough to become recognised! Having these women operate the kitchen makes for great conversation, easy access to food during game play, as well as a great starting point to socialise and make new friends over a meal or refreshment. Not only that but you'll be alongside like-minded people!
Onsite Parking
Given the church's proximity to Garden State Parkway highway, as well as the church being a public local bingo hall, parking is a great facility that this location boasts. Nobody wants to worry over where to park or how far the parking availability is to their destination, but the church has this covered! With easily-accessible parking on-site, plus big named brands in the immediate area, St Dominic's Church isn't at a loss for parking. Not only does it have a parking lot of its own but there is the option of street parking, plus larger parking lots for businesses further out if you don't mind (or want!) a little walk. However, don't risk getting caught in the rain if you take the option to park somewhere a little bigger but further away! You can get as close to the venue as you need!
In conclusion, St. Dominic's offers a small bingo hall for those not looking for a big-scale night out but, rather, a friendly, welcoming place to get comfortable, meet new people, and have a bite to eat while trying their luck at winning a few games. With no shortage of amenities nearby as well as on-site, this church has many attractive elements for anyone of any age. With volunteers more than happy to help out with any queries, any a group of like-minded players all waiting with their ink daubers at the ready, those looking for small-time bingo games can walk right in and feel at home. Away from the busy lunchtime hour rush of corporate locations, this church will be a perfect location to escape for an hour or two and take a break.
